good news that something is being preserved from McCook. The bad news is that it lost it's charter. This was one hell of a lodge in it's day. The fact is that the GL is mostly responsible for the demise of this lodge and the dramatic loss of membership. nebraska is down 77% from 1985. and that was as of 2014. Down to 7,000 from 32,000. HUGE drop that can only be attributed to leadership (or lack of).

here's a rental that apparently went bad.

interesting to see how this fares for them. This lodge has over 300 members so losing control of their club room could be a bad .. or good thing.

Second place is not bad for this elks lodge. I'm sure it makes their members proud as well.

I don't know if this is good or bad. Downsizing is not good and 35 year old buildings do have some issues. Still..

A tragedy of epic proportions. Elks manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Sell $15 million facility for a third of it's value. Plus throw in 150 acres for these questionable buyers to sell off to developers. Shame on the Elks for abandoning 80 senior Elks and a 100 year legacy.

another GL failure

What did GL expect by taking away this old lodge's building? Sometimes I wonder why I belong to an organization that exhibits such ineptitude!!
